BRANSON, MISSOURI - PART #1 and HAVING A BLAST!

On Thursday, June 18th we woke up to a dreary overcast day. During the night I checked the water level several times and it had not changed.

They were calling for a hard rain tonight and all day on Friday. So we were safe for now and decided we could take a ride to Branson Landing for the day.

If you look closely, you can see the water level at the tree line. It looks close from this angle, but it was about 150 ft. away and we are up on a rise.

Just on the other side of the tree line is Turkey Creek. I am not sure what they call these structures. They are kind of rustic floating little house boats.

Branson Landing is an outdoor shopping area on Lake Taneycomo. Through out the year they hold special events, parades, concerts and festivals. It has over 100 specialty stores including Bass Pro.

Check out the entrance of Bass Pro. I loved the large lanterns and antlers.

All Bass Pro Shops have huge aquariums inside. I have always loved aquariums, I always fine it calming when watching fish.

There is a nice wide sidewalk that runs between the Branson Landing and Lake Taneycomo. We saw plenty of ducks and their babies and fishermen. The water is clean and clear.

At the Branson Landing Shops, there is Parakeet Pete's. They have a balloon that rises 180 ft. in the air and it gives you a complete 360 degree view of the Landing and Lake Taneycomo.  The balloon is held within the tower so you don't have to worry about bad weather and wind.

Parakeet Pete also has a zip line ride that takes you across Lake Taneycomo. The other side is Mount Branson and from there you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake, Branson Landing and historic downtown Branson.

Well look what I found! CHOCOLATE! I went in to drool a bit.

Oh my gosh, my two favorite foods, chocolate and jalapeno. Now I may have to get one of these before we leave!

They have this cute little train goes from one end of the Branson Landing to the other making several stops along the way so folks can jump in and out to shop.

This was one of our favorite shops. All kinds of hot sauces! We tasted several and I loved the chocolate jalapeno hot sauce.

Since arriving in Missouri, we had a delicious lunch at a fun restaurant called Lambert's not far from Branson. Lambert's served Hog Jowls and now this floating restaurant called The Fish House
on Lake Taneycomo serves alligator. I think that I could pass up alligator.

This fountain at the square of the Branson Landing shops moves to music. It was so peaceful to watch

The fountain below is a spectacular water attraction. It features a merging of water, fire, light and music. Starting at noon every day and every hour on the hour, the water, lights and fire dance to music. Different music is played each hour. The Star Spangled Banner starts it off every day at noon and the show goes until 10 p.m. I bet the show is breathtaking when night falls.

Until next time.............Happy Trails!
